We are incredibly blessed to live in modern times. The amount of biblical resources available to us are beyond comparison with previous generations, but this can cause problems. There's helpful biblical information out there, but how can we find it among all the less useful websites? I thought it would be helpful to list out some of the more useful biblical resources as well as blogs out there in the web.

First up is BlueLetterBible.org. At first glance this might look like any online bible website. You can enter verses and have the site look them up in multiple translations, but that isn't what makes BLB great. The true awesomeness of the website is the lexical search ability. On the upper right hand side of the screen is a search bar that allows you to search for specific words. From there it brings back every verse that that word occurs in based upon the translation you pick. The words are then linked to Strong's which will give you the full lexical meaning of the word. Anytime you want to do a simple and quick word study, BLB is indispensable.

Have you ever had someone tell you that the church is hiding books that they don't want in the bible? Its an old idea, but one that continually keeps coming up. Well now you can read all of those so-called 'hidden' books of the bible. Laid out by date, EarlyChristianWritings.com has all of the NT books, Apocrypha, Gnostic and Church Father writings. They're interesting to read and in all cases its quickly apparent why they are not viewed as canonical or inspired works.

An amazing translation of the bible can be found at online. Called the NET bible, it is a constantly reviewed and updated translation from an open source scholarly community. In addition to its excellent style of writing, the NET bible comes with notes from translators and commentators on the passages. Its a must see for serious exegetic students.
It addition to these three resources, I have several more on the right hand side of my website. I also include links to some great blogs out there. Please check them out, and let me know if there are any other great resources I should include!
